AAFM Global -

The American Academy of Financial Management, or AAFM as it is known, is a professional certifying body and accreditation council dedicated to the finance sector and management professionals. It has membership in over 140 countries with training centers and key offices in: Hong Kong, USA, Mexico, Singapore, Cairo, Beijing PRC, Mexico, Carribean, California, and more.

The AAFM was founded in 1996, via a merger between the American Academy of Financial Management & Analysts (AAFMA) and the Founders Advisory Committee of the Original Tax and Estate Planning Law Review. The AAFM is a professional association governed by a Board of Standards and a membership code of ethics and standards of practice. The AAFM Membership operates in most countries as a ‘society', with the members of the local or regional chapter making up the stakehoders of the societys ethics and standards. At all times the AAFM and its members are accountable to the community and to the Board of Standards Rules and Regulations. The Academy's legal and operational structure is somewhat dictated by a landmark US Supreme Court case (Ibanez vs. Florida)[2] and this case also dictates the use of the AAFM marks as respect its members.

The American Academy of Financial Management maintains more than 20 designations in the finance arena, with highly specialized role-based post-nominal awards. Members must either have come through one of the AAFM Accredited University Finance programs (such as Top Business Schools accredited by The AACSB International[3], ACBSP Accreditation[4], etc), EQUIS Accredited Schools, ABA Law Schools or directly through an AAFM Approved Executive Training Program, or in some rare cases for PhDs and National Experts through grandfathering by way of board/peer review.  AAFM is best recognized for its qualifications being in alliance with the AACSB International Accreditation Agency, the ACBSP Accreditation Agency, and listed and disclosed with various authorities such as: USA Regulatory Investor Education[5], , Department of Labor[6], or National Compliance and Authoratative Registries [7], . AAFM Designations are available as executive certification courses for accredited degree holders in: North and South America as well as Asia, India, and the Middle East.

The American Academy of Financial Management has mutual cross- recognition agreements from the AACSB[8] and ACBSP[9]. Thus, AAFM has over 561 registered and recognized accredited certification degree programs worldwide through the AACSB and ACBSP alliance with the 2 major Business [10] Accreditation Agencies Worldwide.[11] AAFM has mutual cooperation agreements in place with multiple Universtities globally including the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Hong Kong University, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Diamond Graduate Law School LLM Online Program,[12]. AAFM qualifications are recognized by the China Bankers Association or The Asian Banker [13], the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the Dubai Stock Exchange or Dubai Financial Market[14], the Kuwait Institute of Banking Studies, The Royal Society of Fellows [15] the Dubai Quality Group[16] and numerous other professional and trade associations. In 2004, the AAFM was featured in the Wall Street Journal as being on the forefront of the Wealth Management training while also granting Lawyers, CPA's and even CFA's some advanced standing via board articulation agreements. [17]  AAFM has also be featured in the Financial Times, The Hindu National, The Arab Daily, The China National News, and the El Norte Mexico.

The AAFM has distribution alliance offices and partners etc that are registered and recognized by those countries where they operate including United States of America, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, India, China, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Greece and other locations.

The AAFM has always required a college degree to be a candidate for certification. Other major insurance and financial planner organizations are only recently in 2007 began requiring a college education after almost 30 years of granting financial planner credentials to those who took only 5-6 courses and quizzes.[18] In contrast, AAFM members are mainly from AACSB ACBSP, EQUIS, ABA, and other  "Double Sanctioned" government recognized business and law schools [19] Thus, a college graduate would have already successfully completed 30 or more college level courses [20] and exams along with ethics and professionalism [21] courses to earn a degree to then be eligible for AAFM professional certification.

Due to global cross-recognition legal recognition agreements with the 2 major accrediting agencies AACSB and ACBSP which accredit over 560 of the best business school programs worldwide  The Certification of MFP Master Financial Planner Professional from the American Academy of Financial Management is available to AACSB and ACBSP business school graduates with finance or financial services related degrees and concentrations.

* AAFM Global Training in Dubai has been terminated in 2008 and does not hold any license to distribute the IPMC Internatinal Project Management Commission Training  Thus, the AAFM does operate as a license holder over IPMC and AAPM Project Management Executive Courses which include: MPM Master Project Manager, CIPM Certified International Project Manager, CPE Certified Planning Engineer, CEC Certified E-Commerce Consultant, and PME Project Manager E-Business.
